“INFLATION IN AGRICULTURAL INPUT COSTS IS AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL SINCE 2022”

Antalya Commodity Exchange (ATB) and Antalya Agriculture Council (ATAK) Chairman Ali Çandır evaluated the Agriculture Input Price Index (Agriculture-GPI) for September announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Stating that the Agriculture-GPI was announced as 2.63 per cent per month, Çandır said, “This figure has been announced as 1.7 times the average of September months since 2015, when the index started to be measured.”

Noting that the Agriculture-GPI was announced as 40.97 percent annually in September, Çandır noted, “This annual figure is around one-third of last year’s 135.06 percent level. The fact that the announced annual figure is close to the average of 32.24 per cent rasps the expectations of a future decline.”

“In general, the inflation in agricultural input costs announced for September remained at the average level on a monthly basis, while on an annual basis, it remained at the highest level since 2022,” Çandır added…
