New target of 50 million dollars for canned citrus exports…
Türkiye’s exports of canned citrus rose by 28 percent, from 30 million to 38.5 million dollars. The country will be working hard to surpass 50 million dollars in canned citrus exports over the remaining four months of the year.

The Aegean Region, which leads Türkiye’s exports of processed fruit and vegetables, has also retained its top position in canned citrus exports.
The Aegean Region’s exports of canned citrus products surged by 68 percent, climbing from 11.6 million to 18.6 million dollars. The Aegean Region accounted for 48.5 percent of the country’s total canned citrus exports.
Hayrettin Uçak, Chairman of the Sectoral Council of the Turkish Fruit and Vegetable Products Exporters’ Associations, stated that Türkiye’s citrus product exports rose by 79 percent from 520 million to 933 million dollars between January and August 2026, noting that the citrus sector had set records for both fresh and tinned exports.
Uçak shared that the most exported product in the canned citrus category was canned tangerines, worth 32.5 million dollars and added, “We generated 2.8 million dollars in foreign exchange revenue from canned grapefruit.”
Providing further information on export markets, Uçak concluded his remarks as follows: “Germany is our largest export market, worth 24 million dollars. We exported 4.5 million dollars’ worth of canned citrus to the UK and 3 million dollars’ worth to the Netherlands. We aim to exceed 50 million dollars with the exports we will make in the remaining four months of the year.”
