HALUK OKUTUR: İHBİR’S EXPORTS SHOWED AN INCREASE OF 18.73 PERCENT

Haluk Okutur, Chairman of the Board of Istanbul Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association (İHBİR), said, “İHBİR’s exports in the first 8-month period covering the January-August period of 2021 amounted to 1 billion 471 million 918 thousand dollars with an increase of 18.73 percent.”

In the written statement of İHBİR, Okutur stated that as İHBİR, they realized 183 million dollars of exports in August with a rise of 33.41 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and said, “The export of our Association to the USA, which exports to a total of 187 countries in 2021, soared by 73.97 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.”

“Our exports to Iraq boosted by 37.82 percent, 64.51 percent to the United Kingdom, 430.06 percent to Algeria and 36.37 percent to Germany on value basis. In the January-August period, our Union realized an export of 1 billion 471 million 918 thousand dollars with an increase of 18.73 percent compared to the same period of the previous year,” Okutur added.

Pointing out that the exports of sugar and sugary products reached 46 million 496 thousand dollars in August with an increase of 54.39 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, Okutur concluded:

“Sugar and confectionery products took their place among the product groups with the highest export volume this month. Other food preparations exports 32.72 percent, pastry products 26.31 percent, cocoa products exports 24.14 percent, vegetable oils exports 56, 06, oil seeds and fruits exports rose by 33.01 percent on value basis.”
