Turkiye earned 7 million dollars in two months from honey exports…
In January-February 2022, 7 million 131 thousand 895 dollars worth of honey was sold to 36 countries from Turkiye.
Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKİB) Deputy Chairman of the Board Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan said that 2,844 tonnes of honey was sold in two months of the year.
Stating that 7 million 131 thousand 895 dollars were obtained from the said exports, Gürdoğan said, “Our country exported honey to 36 countries in two months. The USA, Spain and Germany were the top 3 countries to which honey was exported. In this period, 1 million 651 thousand dollars to the USA, 1 million 463 thousand 621 dollars to Spain and 990 thousand 454 dollars worth of honey exported to Germany.”
Pointing out that Spain was the country that increased its export potential the most during this period, Gürdoğan also noted that exports to the USA soared by 130 percent in value and 44 percent in quantity compared to the same period of the previous year.
“Different from the same period last year, Turkish honey was exported to Israel, Poland, Hungary, Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovakia, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Singapore, Mauritania, France, Switzerland, Bangladesh, Cape Verde, North Macedonia and Taiwan too,” Gürdoğan added…
