CAHİT DOĞAN YAĞCI: WE PRODUCE 70 PERCENT OF OREGANO IN THE WORLD

Aegean Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters’ Association aims to leave 2021 behind with 755 million dollars with design, R&D, branding and innovation.

Speaking at the 2019-2020 Ordinary General Assembly Meeting, Aegean Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters’ Association Chaiperson Cahit Doğan Yağcı said that despite the pandemic, the exports of the three sectors in Turkey exceeded the level of 5.5 billion dollars as of 2020 and reached 2019.

Yağcı said, “Our goal is; to export our products by increasing the added value of our products with design, R&D, branding and innovation and to boost our exports by enhancing our unit export prices. With this goal, we believe that we, as the Association, will achieve an export figure of 755 million dollars in 2021.”

“When we look at the year 2020, compared to the previous year, there is an increase of 13% in oregano (thyme), which we produce about 70% of the world production and 17% in the bay leaf, which we produce more than 90% of the world production. Likewise, there is an increase of 30 percent in rosemary and 32 percent in linden and we anticipate that this increase will continue in 2021,” Yağcı added…
