Exports of fresh fruits and vegetables reached 1 billion dollars…
Fresh fruit and vegetable product exporters increased their exports by 6 percent between January 1 and August 28, to 1 billion 24 million dollars.
Hayrettin Uçak said that during the period of January 1 to August 28, the overall exports of fresh fruit and vegetable products reached to 1 billion 24 million dollars by rising 6 percent.
Uçak said, “The success share of our Aegean exporters cannot be denied in our region where 40 percent of end product exports are realized. The most important ones in the end products are dried tomatoes, canned tomatoes and tomato paste.”
Stating that 80 percent of pickle and dry tomato exports made from the Aegean region, Uçak noted, “We have to strive and work more and more.”
“In the first 7 months, we exported 143 million dollars to Germany, 106 million dollars to the USA, 91 million dollars to Iraq, 67 million dollars to the UK, 59 million dollars to the Netherlands,” Uçak added.
He indicated that the most exported products between January 1 and August 28 were dried tomatoes, fruit peels, fruit juices and concentrates, juices and carbonated drinks, pickles, tomato paste, canned vegetables.”
