Forty-one companies in fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products joined forces for an export target of 10 billion dollars
Forty-one companies in the fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products sector, which brings in 6 billion 100 million dollars of foreign currency to Türkiye annually and has an export target of 10 billion dollars, have joined forces within the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association to enhance their competencies and exports by clustering.
The Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, which is the leader of plant product exports in the Aegean Region and realises 22.5 percent of the country’s fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products exports, has added the fourth link to its Development of International Competitiveness Projects (URGE) with the Turkish Fresh and Processed Fruits and Vegetables Cluster Development of International Competitiveness Project.
Hayrettin Uçak, Head of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, stated that they ramped up their exports to India by 3.5 times in 3 years from 30 million dollars to over 100 million dollars with the Target Markets Development of International Competitiveness Project in Fresh Cherry, Grape and Pomegranate Products related to the Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable sector during the pandemic period between 2020-23.
Noting that they are very happy to be honoured with the “Development of International Competitiveness Projects Good Practice Example Award” among 619 Development of International Competitiveness Projects by the Ministry of Trade, he said, “This award motivated us to make the Turkish Fresh and Processed Fruits and Vegetables Cluster Development of International Competitiveness Project more successful.”
