Azerbaijanis loved Turkish fish very much….
In the January-April period of 2022, which breaks export records every year, the aquaculture sector, which brought Turkiye 472 million dollars in foreign currency with an increase of 16 percent, organized a Fish-Bread Festival in Azerbaijan as a friendly and brotherly country.
Within the scope of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Fisheries between the Government of the Republic of Turkiye and the Government of Azerbaijan, in order to strengthen the cooperation in fisheries and aquaculture and to promote Turkish fish, on May 18-20 in Baku, Azerbaijan; The Fish-Bread Festival was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association (ESÜHMİB) and Aquaculture Producers’ Central Union. Azerbaijanis showed great interest in the event in Baku Expo Center.
Sharing the information that 70 percent of Turkiye’s aquaculture exports are made from the Aegean Region, Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association Accounting Member and İzmir Fishery Breeders and Producers’ Association Chairperson Ufuk Atakan Demir, together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, said that that they are very happy to organize a Fish-Bread Festival in the sister country Azerbaijan and that they want to diversify their export markets in order to reach the 2 billion dollars export target they have set for 2023 as the Turkish aquaculture sector.
