TURKISH FRESH FRUIT AND VEGETABLE SECTOR PERFORMS ON THE GLOBAL STAGE…
Ferhat Gürüz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, announced that Türkiye exported 240.3 million dollars in fresh fruit and vegetables in September. He also noted that total exports decreased by 55 percent compared to the same period last year, while the decrease in export revenue was limited to 10 percent.

“This figure shows that despite the loss in volume, the sector is achieving an increase in unit prices and shifting its focus to exporting value-added products,” he said.
Stating that, as Türkiye’s leading fresh fruit and vegetable exporter, they successfully organized national participation in the Asia Fruit Logistica, World Food Moscow and Fruit Attraction fairs in September, he noted, “We are conducting marketing activities in Poland as part of the Fresh Fruit, Vegetable and Citrus Cluster International Competitiveness Development (UR-GE) Project.”
Emphasizing that the importance of participating in prestigious international fairs in promoting the quality and competitiveness of Turkish producers to the world, Gürüz explained, “This promotional chain, stretching from Hong Kong to Warsaw, Moscow to Madrid, has increased interest in Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable products across a wide geography from Asia to Europe. We distinguish ourselves at every fair with the modern design of our Turkish pavilion, our digital promotional tools, and our strong organizational skills.”

Gürüz also underlined their focus on strategic market diversification and sustainable export infrastructure to boost the country’s share of the global fresh fruit and vegetable trade.
“There is a strong demand for Turkish products in Asian markets, as well as in Russia and European Union countries. The results we have achieved, particularly in apple, citrus, grape and fig exports, demonstrate the validity of our branding and quality-based strategy. Our exporters are establishing new trade connections through these events held in various parts of the world, representing the strength, continuity and reliability of Turkish agriculture,” Gürüz concluded…
