Professor Dr. Vahit Kirişci, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, announced that they will implement a new project in animal husbandry.
Pointing out that contract production is extremely important in this sense, Dr. Kirişci said, “It was published in the Official Gazette on September 6, 2022 by the Meat and Milk Board (ESK). I can already say that we will implement the contracted livestock breeding project, especially with the Presidential decree published. I would like to share with you that the details of this will be announced soon. Our Board will provide market and price guarantee to our producers with contracted livestock activities. Monthly costs will be calculated by the commissions to be formed, purchasing prices will be constantly updated by considering the welfare of the farmer according to the determined cost.”
“Producers with a purchase and price guarantee will be able to make five-year production planning very easily. They will be able to unilaterally abandon this contract if they wish. I would like to point out that we will also subject our breeders to training programmes to increase productivity within the scope of the project. We attach great importance to this and we want it to be implemented thoroughly, particularly in a production area such as animal husbandry.”
