Ferhat Gürüz, Chairman of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, announced that they converted 210,354 tonnes of product into value across Türkiye in June, achieving 203 million dollars in exports.

Stating that the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, which provides coordination and secretarial services as the leader of the fresh fruit and vegetable sector in Türkiye, contributed 39 percent of the sector’s exports in June, with a value of 79.8 million dollars, he said, “The products we exported most in June across the country were peaches, apricots, cherries and sour cherries.”
“Our peach exports, with a value of 42.6 million dollars, accounted for a 21 percent share of total exports. We earned 24.1 million dollars from apricot exports, which accounted for a 12 percent share, while we generated 23.5 million dollars in export revenue from cherries and sour cherries. In fresh vegetable exports, we achieved the highest export value from tomatoes, reaching 14.6 million dollars, peppers 12.7 million dollars and onions and shallots 5.5 million dollars.”
Pointing that the provinces with the highest exports across Türkiye during this period were Mersin, Antalya and Hatay provinces respectively, he added, “Mersin province accounted for 20 percent of total exports with 40.5 million dollars. Antalya achieved 35.7 million dollars in exports with an 18 percent share, while Hatay achieved 30.2 million dollars in exports with a 15 percent share.”
