Press release…
Ferhat Gürüz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, announced that in July 2025, 113,504 tonnes of products were exported across Türkiye, generating 121.5 million dollars in revenue.

Gürüz stated that the sector’s exports reached 1.814 billion dollars in the first seven months of the year and said, “Despite global economic uncertainties, the impact of climate change on agriculture and rising costs in the domestic market, our exporters are working tirelessly to turn the labour of Turkish farmers into value in world markets.”
Emphasizing that the effects of the climate crisis are being felt more and more every day and that in addition to the frosts experienced during the winter season, he noted, “The recent extreme heat in the region has significantly reduced crop yields.”
Highlighting that unpredictable weather events are causing serious damage to agricultural production, he added “Irrigating agricultural lands is becoming increasingly difficult. It is of vital importance that investments be completed as soon as possible to transition our region from surface irrigation systems to closed and modern irrigation systems. Modern irrigation systems, organic farming and the use of renewable energy will enhance both environmental sustainability and our global competitive strength.”
