“EXPORTS OF FISHERIES AND ANIMAL PRODUCTS BOOSTED 2.5 TIMES IN 10 YEARS”

The Turkish fisheries and animal products sector, which exports aquaculture, poultry meat, eggs, milk along with dairy products and honey to 142 countries and decorates the world’s tables with healthy and safe food for three meals, has reached an export level of 3 billion 591 million dollars in the last 1-year period.

In February 2022, it exceeded its 3.5 billion dollars export target set for 2023.

They increased their 2023 target to 4.2 billion dollars!

Turkish fisheries and animal products sector, which achieved its 2023 target two years ago, set a new export target of 3.8 billion dollars for the end of 2022 and 4.2 billion dollars for the end of 2023.

Noting that the Turkish aquaculture and animal products industry exported 1.4 billion dollars 10 years ago, Turkish Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Associations Sector Board Chair Sinan Kızıltan stated that the sector has succeeded in boosting its exports 2.5 times in 10 years.

Pointing out that there are 5 main export groups consisting of aquatic products, poultry, eggs, dairy products and honey products, Kızıltan said, “After 2000, we invested millions of dollars in our sector and established the most modern facilities in the world. By increasing our exports every year, we have become Turkiye’s second largest exporter sector in the food sector.”

“We will continue to produce and export in order to become a sector that will bring 10 billion dollars foreign currency to the country by continuously rising our exports until 2035,” Kızıltan added.
