A study published in Pedatria investigated the potential benefits of royal jelly in children with chronic nutritional disorders. The findings indicated improvements in general health, emotional well-being, and sleep quality, alongside increased appetite and weight gain in children consuming royal jelly.
🔎 In the study, royal jelly was administered as follows: for children under 2 years of age, 0.0005 g was given in suppository form two to three times daily; for older children, 0.01 g was administered sublingually twice daily.
➡️ Among the 35 children observed, improvements in general condition, emotional state, and sleep quality were noted. Additionally, increased appetite was reported within 2–3 days of starting royal jelly consumption.
➡️ At the conclusion of the study, children who discontinued royal jelly intake showed a flattening of the weight gain curve and a recurrence of reduced appetite.
➡️ Serum protein levels were also reported to normalize during supplementation; however, loss of appetite reappeared upon cessation of royal jelly.
These results suggest that royal jelly may offer potential benefits in improving appetite and supporting weight gain in children with chronic nutritional challenges.
