Chocolate and cocoa-based product exports exceed 1 billion dollars…
According to data shared by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products sector, which includes chocolate and cocoa products, sunflower oil, biscuits and wafers, confectionery and staple food items such as pasta and wheat flour, achieved a total of 10.1 billion dollars in exports in the first 10 months of the year.

While the sector’s exports decreased by 5.3 percent in volume compared to the same period last year, a 10.2 percent increase in export unit prices led to a 4.3 percent increase in value. Chocolate and cocoa-based products led the export rankings with 1.1 billion dollars and a 58.7 percent increase, followed by sunflower oil with a 15.7 percent increase and 865.4 million dollars in exports.
Iraq, the sector’s top export destination with 1.4 billion dollars in the last 10 months, saw a 17.6 percent decline in exports due to internal market problems, while exports to the US surged by 42.7 percent, reaching 743 million dollars. Other leading export destinations followed Iraq and the US, including Syria, Algeria and Germany…
