Pointing out that in the January – February period of 2025, Türkiye’s exports of food products to Japan decreased by 53 percent, Celep explained, “While our exports of food products to Japan was 98 million dollars in the first two months of 2024, it decreased to 46 million dollars in the January-February period of 2025. The Japanese are making sacrifices today. Türkiye is a very expensive country due to the economic programme implemented today. In 2025, we have seen the signals that we will experience blood loss in exports to Japan in the first two months. If Türkiye’s economic policy continues like this, our exports to Japan will be negative in 2025.”

We need to realise the awareness of Turkish food products next to the awareness of Italian and Spanish products. In order to be successful in the Japanese market, visiting once a year is not enough, we need to bring the distant closer. We need to focus on fairs, trade delegations, procurement delegations,” Celep added…
