Veysel Memiş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association (AHBİB), announced that they exported 265 million dollars in September with a spike of 45 per cent compared to the same period last year. Stating that the results of the diligent efforts to boost market diversity were reflected in the September export reports, Veysel Memiş also emphasised that they achieved increases of up to 213 times in China, Taiwan and Nepal in the Far East, and in Venezuela, Chile, Brazil and Colombia in South America.
“We made a landing at Anuga Fair”
Pointing out that they are making great efforts to deepen in existing markets and to bring the quality and taste of Turkish products to potential buyers in new markets in order to further enhance exports, Veysel Memiş said, “AHBİB made a landing at the international food and beverage fair held in Cologne, Germany between 7-11 October, there was great interest in the fair with more than 13 thousand participants. Over 40 of our members participated in the fair as exhibitors. As AHBİB, we hosted our members who came to keep the pulse of the sector at our stand in the fair. We supported our members to meet potential buyers and provide new connections.”
“Far Countries Strategy is our guide in the global arena”
Noting that AHBİB, whose main export markets are the Middle East, Africa and European Union countries, focuses on 18 countries determined by the Ministry of Trade in the Far Countries Strategy in line with the opening of AHBİB to distant markets, he explained, “The Far Countries Strategy, which is a road map with 328 actions in many areas such as finance, standardisation, logistics, promotion and diplomacy, is our guide in the global arena. We strive to increase our sectoral effectiveness in the USA, Australia, Brazil, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Republic of South Africa, South Korea, India, Japan, Canada, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Chile, Thailand and Vietnam, which are the target countries where trade delegation programmes, fairs, promotion and marketing activities are concentrated.”
