Celep said, “MSRE has been held eight times since 2014 and the total number of exhibitors has exceeded one million. At the fair, where the Guandong Government also took part, Turkish food products were promoted while Aegean Exporters’ Associations with the support of our Guangzhou Commercial Attaché and bilateral business meetings were held with Chinese businessmen through our Consultancy. In particular, there has been an intense demand for aquatic products, olive oil and dried fruit from our country. In the last 9 months, we have experienced remarkable increases in our exports to China, such as 574 percent in aquatic products, 126 percent in dried fruit, 99 percent in hazelnuts and their products, and 68 percent in cereals compared to the last year.”

Celep also explained that 254 million dollars of exports, which were realized as 2 billion 512 million dollars with a rise of 35 percent to China in the January-September period, are made up of food.

“The 111% increase in our food exports compared to the last year clearly demonstrates that the Turkish food industry has started to reap the rewards of its investments in China. Our China working group, which we established within our Association in 2019, has been working hard for the last three years to plan events for the Chinese market. We continue to promote our food products on platforms such as Wechat and weibo,” Celep added.

“At the same time, we are in talks with agencies approved by platforms such as JD and T-Mall. At the end of this work, we will open the stores of our companies and ensure that our products take place more intensely in the Chinese market. We aim to exceed 1 billion dollars in food exports to China in the next 5 years,” Celep concluded…
