Food exports from Turkiye to the United States increased by 76 percent from 68 million dollars to 120 million dollars in January 2022.
On the other hand, while the USA’s food demand from Turkiye soared by 35 percent from 810 million dollars to 1 billion 94 million dollars in 2021, food exports to the USA exceeded 1 billion dollars for the first time.
While the USA ranks fourth in the list of countries importing food from Turkiye, Aegean Exporters’ Association (EİB) dominates the rise in food exports from Turkiye to this country, thanks to the TURQUALITY Project it carries out to promote Turkish food products and the fairs it participates in the USA.
Expressing that they have been carrying out the TURQUALITY Project for 3 years to ensure that Turkish delicacies are consumed more in the USA and that they have started to reap the fruits of these efforts, Aegean Exporters’ Associations Vice Coordinator Birol Celep said that food exports from the EİB to the USA rose by 23 percent in 2021 from 267 million to 330 million dollars.
