Bedri Girit: 2025 will be a tougher and more challenging year!

Bedri Girit, Chair of the Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters Association, stated that he bans and quotas imposed on products such as eggs, milk powder and butter affect them greatly.

The sector needs to act with a common vision in line with the qualified export target. Although a growth rate of 2.7 percent is expected for Türkiye in 2025, the growth rate in developed countries to which we export is only 1.8 percent.”

“We need to make moves to enhance the perception of the country and our companies should act in parallel. Our TURQUALITY Project for the US market is entering its 6th year. During our visit to Japan, we reached an agreement with a university. In this context, theoretical and practical presentations of Turkish dishes will be made starting from September. Our 2026 sector target of 4.3 billion dollars in Türkiye in general and 2 billion dollars as Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association is progressing step by step,” Girit added…
