AWARD TO THE COMPANIES EXPORTING THE MOST FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FROM THE MEDITERRANEAN…
Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, which supports Türkiye’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports of 2.95 billion dollars in 2022 by 46 percent with a value of 1.37 billion dollars, awarded 30 members with the highest exports last year.
“Thank you Plaques” were presented to 66 members who donated containers to the One Heart in the Earthquake Campaign, which was launched to heal the wounds in Hatay province , where the great destruction was experienced in the disaster of the century.
Mersin Governor Ali Hamza Pehlivan attended the 2022 Stars of Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exports Award Ceremony and the Plaque Presentation Organisation for the One Heart in Earthquake Campaign, hosted by Ferhat Gürüz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, at the Mersin Hall in the Mediterranean Exporters’ Association (AKİB) service building, Ali Kavak, Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) and Chairman of the Turkish Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Associations Sector Board, Sabri Tekli, President of Mersin Tarsus Organised Industrial Zone (MTOSB), managers of relevant public institutions, representatives of non-governmental organisations and many exporters attended the event.

Emphasising that the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association is the leader in the country’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports, Ferhat Gürüz said: “In 2022, approximately 50 percent of Türkiye’s 3 billion dollars of fresh fruit and vegetable exports and 74 percent of Türkiye’s citrus exports were carried out by AKİB. We constantly express the importance of our sector. We are proud of the net foreign currency inflow, the jobs we create for unskilled workers, the evaluation of the products produced by the sweat of our farmers abroad and many other contributions to our country’s economy.”
