ALMOST 3 BILLION DOLLARS FROM GRAIN, PULSES, OILSEED AND PRODUCTS EXPORTERS…

Grains, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Sector Board Meeting was held through the teleconference system under the chairmanship of Mahsum Altunkaya. At the meeting attended by TİM (Turkish Exporters’ Assembly) President İsmail Gülle, sectoral problems and pandemic process along with export figures were evaluated.

Commenting after the meeting Turkey Grains, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Sector Council President Mahsum Altunkaya said, “We had some problems across Turkey, as all over the world, arising from the pandemic period. But we gave all supports needed and took the measures in order to overcome these difficulties.”

Stating that in the first five-month period of 2020, they inked a 2 billion 901 million 972 thousand dollars of exports, Altunkaya noted, “Our sector also have had negative repercussions as well as experienced in whole world because of Covid-19.”

Mahsum Altunkaya also evaluated the sectoral export figures realized in the first five months of 2020 and explained, “In the first five months of the year, 2 billion 901 million 972 thousand dollars were exported from the country.”

Adding that flour was the highest item in product-based exports which is equivalent to 378 million 074 thousand dollars, Altunkaya concluded, “Pasta followed this item with 301 million 115 thousand dollars, sweet biscuits with 271 million 755 thousand dollars and sunflower seed oil with 247 million 790 thousand dollars.”
