Türkiye – Poland Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Summit was held on 23 January 2025 in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, within the scope of the Turkish Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Sector Promotion Campaign carried out by the Turkish Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Associations Sector Board within the scope of Turquality Supports of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye.

Turkish Ambassador to Warsaw Rauf Alp Denktaş, Polish Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Stefan Krajewski, Deputy Chairman of the Polish-Turkish Parliamentary Group Senator Matusiak Grzegorz and Ambassador Jerzy Drozdz, Chairman of the Poland-Türkiye Business Council of the Polish National Chamber of Commerce attended the Summit, which was organised by the Turkish Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Associations Sector Board.
The Türkiye-Poland Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Summit was also attended by senior executives of Poland’s leading supermarket chains, representatives of major importer companies, sector professionals and members of the press.
Speaking at the opening of the summit, Ali Kavak, Chairman of the Turkish Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Associations Sector Board, emphasised that the diplomatic and commercial relations between Poland and Türkiye date back to 600 years; “There is a balanced trade volume between Türkiye and Poland. In Poland’s country-based exports, Türkiye ranked 18th with a share of 1.3 percent in 2023, while Poland’s exports to Türkiye were 5 billion dollars and our country’s exports to Poland were 6 billion dollars. In Poland’s imports, Türkiye ranks 13th with a share of 2.1 percent. We are here as Turkish Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, our share in this import of Poland, which imports 3 billion 386 million dollars of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables in 2023, is only 217 million dollars.”

Pointing out that Türkiye exports only 8 percent of the its fresh fruit and vegetable products produced, Kavak said, “The remaining 92 percent is consumed in the country. I would like to underline that we attach importance to the safety of the products we offer to the consumption of our own people, so consuming Turkish products is also safe for the Polish people.”
