Antalya Commodity Exchange Cairman Ali Çandır stated that the prices of goods and services used in agriculture surged by 29.02 percent annually in January. There was also a monthly increase of 5.95 percent in the Agricultural Input Price Index in January.

Ali Çandır, Chairman of the Antalya Commodity Exchange (ATB) and Antalya Agricultural Council (ATAK), said that the prices of goods and services used in agriculture surged by 5.95 percent monthly and 29.02 percent annually and as of January, monthly and annual data lower than 2024 were announced.
Ali Çandır evaluated the January Agricultural Input Price Index (Agriculture-GPI) announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
Stating that the Agriculture-GPI was announced as 5.89 percent per month in January, Çandır said, “This figure has been announced as an increase well above the average of January months (3.99) since 2015, when the index started to be measured. Thus, the decreases announced since September have ended in monthly indicators.”
Noting that the Agriculture-GPI soared by 30.49 percent annually, Çandır added, “This annual figure is close to the average of January months of the last 9 years (30.55). The inflation in agricultural input prices announced by TURKSTAT for January showed a significant increase in monthly inflation compared to the 10-year January averages, while the annual inflation soared around the average.”
