Ali Can Yamanyılmaz: The export of poultry meat to Europe will be a boost for the sector

Ali Can Yamanyılmaz, Member of Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM) Sectors Council and Vice Chair of Mediterranean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association (ASHIB), stated that the European Union has paved the way for the acceleration of Türkiye’s work in this sector by allowing the export of heat-treated poultry meat and thanked Minister İbrahim Yumaklı for his support, who followed this process from the beginning and ensured that it was resolved.

Ali Can Yamanyılmaz, Vice Chair of ASHIB and Member of TIM Sectors Council, Melisa Tokgöz Mutlu, Member of TIM Board of Directors, Müjdat Sezer, Chair of the Board of Directors of Istanbul Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association (ISHIB), Nerdin Alp, Member of the Board of Directors of ISHIB, Faik Üçer, Vice Chair of BESD-BIR and Ahmet Ergün, Secretary General of White Meat Industrialists and Breeders Association (BESD-BIR), visited İbrahim Yumaklı, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and exchanged views on how to solve the problems in the poultry sector.

Ali Can Yamanyılmaz highlighted that they want to contribute to increasing Türkiye’s fisheries and animal food capacity and to take a more active role in export markets.

Pointing out that within the scope of overcoming the problems experienced in the sector, Yamanyılmaz said, “We want to meet the rising demand especially in the poultry sector and for this, IPARD support should be provided and we also requested that foreign origin canned chicken products be included in the Turkish Food Codex and unfair competition should be prevented.”
