Ahmet Tiryakioğlu: Our monthly exports to the US have approached 100 million dollars

Press release…

Ahmet Tiryakioğlu, Chair of the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM) Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Sector Committee, as the sector, they exported 95 million dollars to the US market, where they exported 53.8 million dollars last October, reaching 743 million dollars in this market by the end of the 10-month period.

“This success is largely due to the US, which has reshaped its global trade structure with tariffs, protectionist practices and policies aimed at shortening supply chains. Its focus on diversifying supply security, particularly in agricultural and food products and paving the way for competitive countries like Türkiye. Our sector’s momentum in the US market represents a timely and strategic response to the restructuring of the global supply chain,” he said.

He also noted that another notable development in this process was the 42.7 percent increase achieved over a 10-month period in the US market, where grain sector exports approached 100 million dollars in October.

“The food industry is a driving force in the economy.”

Tiryakioğlu pointed out that while purchasing activity declined in almost all sectors in October, the only expansion was in the food industry, further demonstrating the sector’s economic resilience.

“In October, when the PMI data reached 46.5, nine of the ten largest sectors were in contraction, with food products being the sole exception. The third consecutive month of increase in new orders in the food industry demonstrates that our production chain keeps economic activity vibrant even during periods of slowdown in foreign trade. This dynamism not only meets domestic demand but also strengthens the overall resilience of the economy through its multiplier effect in logistics, retail and supply chains. The food industry has become one of the driving forces of Türkiye, both maintaining its competitiveness in foreign trade and keeping the wheels of production turning in the domestic market. This structure serves as a strategic guarantee for sustainable growth,” he added…
