Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association, told an Anatolian Agency (AA) correspondent that 2,086 tonnes of anchovies were exported from the country in the first eight months of the year.
Gürdoğan stated that this export generated 9,942,815 dollars in revenue and that anchovies were exported to 19 countries during this period.
Pointing out that Belgium ranked first in Türkiye’s anchovy exports over the eight-month period, Gürdoğan said, “Anchovy exports to Belgium soared by 11 per cent in value compared to the same period last year.”
Recalling that anchovy exports to Belgium from the countr amounted to 2,835,806 dollars in the January-August period last year, Gürdoğan noted, “These exports reached 3,149,982 dollars in the same period this year.”
“Belgium was followed by France with 3 million 6 thousand 259 dollars and Germany with 1 million 196 thousand 239 dollars. We are working to enhance market diversity and export potential in anchovy exports,” he added…
