Agricultural census campaign to begin in July across Türkiye!

The agricultural census campaign to be conducted across Türkiye is scheduled to begin in July, during which data will be collected on agricultural holdings, livestock and agricultural equipment and machinery.

According to information obtained from officials at the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the census will be conducted to collect the data needed to develop sound agricultural and food policies and monitor the effectiveness of these policies.

The census will be conducted in two stages, in collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and TÜİK. In the first part of the planned agricultural census, the Ministry has largely completed the process of identifying and registering agricultural lands that are not currently recorded, while in the second stage, the agricultural enterprises and agricultural areas identified in the first part will be used as a framework. Detailed data on these stages will be collected using the ‘full census’ method.

Over 5,000 personnel to be involved in the census process…

‘Provincial and District Census Committees,’ currently in the process of being established under the leadership of provincial and district governors, will coordinate the census process. A total of 973 census offices will be established in all districts and in the central districts of 51 provinces that do not have metropolitan status to work under the Census Committees.

Approximately 3,800 personnel, some of whom are employees of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, will be assigned to the census offices. During the agricultural census campaign, a total of over 5,000 personnel, including telephone operators and technical staff from the TÜİK central and regional offices, will be assigned to the process…
