Turkish carpet exporters, who exported to 180 countries in 2024 and earned 2.9 billion dollars in foreign currency, took action to equip the palaces, hotels and mosques of the United Arab Emirates with Turkish carpets.
16 representatives from 9 companies participating in the Carpet Development of International Competitiveness Project supported by the Ministry of Trade in the Aegean Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association will carry out Overseas Marketing Activities in the United Arab Emirates between 21-24 April 2025.
Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator of the Aegean Exporters‘ Associations and Chair of the Aegean Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association, stated that they have implemented the Carpet Development of International Competitiveness Project, which involves 17 participating companies.
Pointing out that the project began with trainings on sales skills for export and market research methods, he said, “Additionally, a promotional film was created to enhance the companies’ presence in international markets. The project aims to ramp up carpet exports to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is the 6th highest export destination for the sector, from 95 million dollars to above 100 million dollars.”
“The project also targets other markets including the USA, England, Canada, Germany, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The next planned activities include a Carpet Sectoral Trade Delegation, which involves a bilateral business meeting between Turkish carpet exporters and UAE carpet importers, as well as a visit to the Domotex Middle East fair,” he added…
