TIKA and AMEXCID Signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Agriculture Sector…
In Mexico, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of the agricultural sector. During the signing ceremony, TIKA’s development projects in the region and AMEXCID’s Sembrando Vida programme were praised.
According to the statement made by TIKA, the 4th High Level Development Cooperation Network Meeting of MIKTA consisting of Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey and Australia was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico.
The Turkish delegation headed by Uğur Tanyeli, Head of TIKA’s Foreign Relations and Partnerships Department, was represented at the meeting by Ilhan Kemal Tuğ, Ambassador of Turkey to Mexico City, and Fatih Abdi Çetin, Coordinator of TIKA Mexico Office.
During the two-day meetings, representatives of MIKTA development co-operation agencies discussed the 2030 Agenda, the implementation of sustainable development goals and the possibilities of international co-operation for the development of member countries.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mexican Foreign Minister Alicia Barcena said that Mexico is willing to mobilise financing and cooperation for Central America, address the structural causes of migration and develop productive projects.
Following the end of the MIKTA meeting, TIKA and AMEXCID signed a memorandum of understanding for the ‘Sembrando Vida’ programme to strengthen the agricultural sector in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Cuba.
