NEJDAT SİN: TURKEY RANKS 6TH IN LEMON PRODUCTION ACROSS THE WORLD

Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (AYMSİB) Chairman Nejdat Sin said that Turkey has a position of being a global player in the citrus market.

Stating that Turkey ranks 6th in lemon production across the world, Nejdat Sin said, “Mersin, Adana and Hatay provinces have a considerable share in this performance.”

Referring to the fact that lemon constitutes 54 percent of the new season citrus exports, Nejdat Sin noted, “Lemon was the product we exported the most in the new citrus season.

“In the new season, we achieved a 44 percent increase in lemon, which constitutes 54 percent of our citrus exports. Between 3 September and 31 October, we earned 152 million 735 thousand dollars from citrus exports of 285 thousand 599 tons, while our exports of lemon provided 83 million dollars,” Nejdat Sin added…
