Dried fruit exporters are stepping up international partnerships…

The Turkish dried fruit sector, which entered the 2026/2027 season with an export target of 2 billion dollars, has added a new dimension to its international partnerships in order to achieve its export targets.
The Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Association, which dominates the country’s’s dried fruit exports, has highlighted the potential of the Turkish dried fruit sector to Alois Rainer, the German Federal Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, who holds a leading position in Türkiye’s dried fruit exports.
Yusuf Gabay, Chair of the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Association, stated at a reception held in Ankara that they had emphasised to Alois Rainer, the German Federal Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the importance of the long-standing commercial ties between Germany and the Turkish dried fruit sector, as well as the importance they attach to further developing this cooperation.

Highlighting that Germany accounted for 221 million dollars of Türkiye’s 1 billion 742 million dollar dried fruit exports in 2025, Gabay explained, “Germany is the leading market for our exports. It accounts for 13 percent of our total exports. Germany is one of our priority markets and most valuable trading partners for the Turkish dried fruit sector. A target of 5 billion dollars in bilateral trade volume is set for the agricultural sector between Türkiye and Germany. To achieve this target, our Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı and Alois Rainer, the German Federal Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, signed a ‘Joint Declaration of Intent’. As the dried fruit sector, we aim to secure the maximum possible share of this trade volume.”
