The Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters Association (EZZİB) organized a “Financing Access Information Meeting” to facilitate exporters’ access to financing and inform the sector about current support mechanisms.
At the meeting, held at the Aegean Exporters Associations service building, representatives from the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, Türk Eximbank and Türk Ticaret Bankası explained the credit, insurance and financing opportunities offered to exporters. The financing needs and unresolved issues of the olive and olive oil sector were also directly conveyed to the institution representatives.

Emphasizing that the olive and olive oil sector produces entirely with domestic inputs, EZZİB Chair M. Emre Uygun stated that the sector’s financing needs are particularly intense during the raw material procurement period.
“Our olive and olive oil sector produces and exports entirely with domestic resources, without relying on imported inputs. Our raw material purchases intensify during the September-January period and we pay our producers in cash, in Turkish Lira. Therefore, it is crucial that financing opportunities are structured to take into account the seasonal nature and production schedule of our sector,” Uygun said.
“Increasing rediscount credit limits during raw material purchase periods and accelerating allocation processes will significantly contribute to the competitiveness of our sector,” Uygun added…
