54-year record has been broken in fresh fruits, vegetables and products exports from the Aegean Region!
In the Aegean Region, the fresh fruits, vegetables and products sector came to the top of the agricultural products exports in 2020.
Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (EYMSİB), which completed 2019 in third place with 890 million dollars export figure among the 7 agricultural association within the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EİB), reached an export figure of 1 billion 3 million dollars between January 1 and December 19, 2020 for the first time in its 54-year history. It surpassed the billion dollar threshold and reached the top of the agricultural associations within the EİB in 2020.
Stating that 2020 has passed with negativities in a way that they do not want to remember due to the coronavirus and the earthquake experienced, Hayrettin Uçak, Chairperson of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, at the online press conference, said, “A good news came from our Association, just days before the end of 2020. For the first time in its 54-year history, the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association recorded the export of over 1 billion dollars in fresh fruit, vegetable along with fruit and vegetable products in 2020.”
