Agriculture and Forestry Minister Pakdemirli: 4.7 million animals are ready for slaughter during the Feast of Sacrifice
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Pakdemirli said, “1.2 million cattle and 3.5 million ovine animals are waiting for slaughter. Our citizens should not have any concerns about their religious duties.”
Stating that citizens are not deficient in fulfilling their religious duties, Pakdemirli noted, “1.2 million cattle and 3.5 million sheep and goats are ready. More than 800 thousand cattle and 2.7 million ovine animals were also slaughtered. The sector prepares up to 50 percent more. In this regard, our citizens do not have any concerns about fulfilling their religious duties.”

Emphasizing that necessary precautions have been taken in animal markets and slaughtering areas due to the coronavirus epidemic, Pakdemirli continued as follows:
“By tradition, there is a handshake in animal markets. Now, this handshake will not be practised due to the pandemic that we are in this year and still continues. This will be done with social distances as much as possible. Without mask, animal markets will not be entered. Hand disinfection and fever measurements will be made. Appropriate entry and exit gates will be set up in animal sales outlets.”
