Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli stated that the breeders who could not sell their sacrificials will not be victimized and the Meat and Milk Institute (ESK) will take the remaining animals.
Minister Pakdemirli said in a written statement that this year there were 1.2 million cattle and 3.6 million sheep and goats.
Emphasizing that they will not make the breeders aggrieved who cannot sell their sacrficials this year, Pakdemirli noted, “We will purchase all the animals that cannot be sold in the market, if they demand, by means of ESK.”
Explaining that the purchase prices and other details will be announced by the ESK, Pakdemirli added, “There are veterinarians in the animal markets assigned by the Provincial Agricultural Directorates. The remaining sacrificial animals to be brought to the slaughter are required to submit the referral documents given by these experts.”
