Yanmar Türkiye has decided to terminate its production operations in Europe and move them to İzmir’s Torbalı district. Visiting the factory, Abdulvahap Olgun, Head of the Torbalı Chamber of Commerce, said that Torbalı continues to be a centre of attraction for global companies.
Yanmar, one of the world’s largest engine and agricultural equipment manufacturers, has terminated all agricultural equipment production operations in Europe and moved them to Türkiye. Tripling its production capacity at its factory in Torbalı district, Yanmar aims to meet the needs of both Türkiye and Europe and the Turkic Republics with an annual production of 9 thousand tractors. In production lines equipped with modern technology, agricultural machinery is produced for the local and global market, while exports are made to more than 30 countries. With this investment, Yanmar plans to become not only a regional production centre but also a global R&D centre.

M. Caner Akıncı, Plant Manager of Torbalı Branch of Yanmar Türkiye Inc., reminded that Yanmar is a brand established in Japan in 1912 and operating on a global scale and drew attention to the strategic importance of Torbalı region.
Pointing out that they are positioning Torbalı as a production, engineering and logistics base extending from Europe to Central Asia and North Africa, Akıncı said, “We have produced more than 9 thousand tractors at our facility in Torbalı, Izmir and we have tripled our production capacity. We have completely moved the production of our sister facility in Europe here.”
Emphasising that Torbalı addresses both the domestic market and the world market with its geopolitical location and qualified workforce, Akıncı added, “We sell our tractors, which we produce from 16 horsepower to 90 horsepower, to Europe and other regions in addition to Türkiye. We continue our efforts to enhance the competitiveness of Turkish agriculture in the world market.”
