Samsun Provincial Deputy Director of Agriculture and Forestry Bayram Ay declared that according to 2 percent grain limit during the wheat harvest by combine harvester, 4 million 415 thousand liras earned to the provincial economy.
Wheat harvest started in Alaçam district of Samsun and ended in Ladik district as of August.
Bayram Ay said, “It is estimated that 358 thousand tons of wheat is produced in approximately 1 million decares of land in our city in 2019. Approximately 840 thousand decares of the total wheat cultivation area has been harvested with a combine harvester. 360 harvesters are registered to the agricultural chamber in our province. Wheat, barley, sunflower, paddy and soybean harvest is carried out by combine harvesters.”
“In total, 221 inspections carried out in wheat harvest in 13 districts with 50 controllers in total, average wheat yield 388 kilogram per decare and harvested amount is 326 thousand 707 tons and grain loss rate is 0.85 percent per decare. According to these values, in terms of the 2 percent grain loss limit allowed for harvesting in 2019, the provincial economy has gained approximately 4 million 415 thousand TL” he concluded….
