Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Dr. Vahit Kirişci, stated that they will implement the Contracted Livestock Project, which is an exemplary production model in the sector, based on the mutual gain of the parties, in order to develop efficiency-oriented animal husbandry and further strengthen the red meat supply chain.
In his statement, Kirişci noted that the carcass weight for the breeders who made a 5-year contract with the Meat and Milk Board (ESK), a support payment of 2.5 TL/kg will be made for those weighing 201- 250 kg, 3.5 TL/kg for those weighing 251-300 kg, and 5 TL/kg for those weighing 301 kg and above.
“With the Contracted Livestock Project, while market and price guarantees are offered to the producers, our producers can also be given early slaughter or late slaughter premiums depending on the supply and demand situation of the red meat market,” he explained.
“Our producers, who are given a purchase and price guarantee by the ESK, will be able to plan 5-year production. The producer will be able to unilaterally waive the livestock contract signed with the institution without loss of rights,” he added…
