“UNTIE THE SHACKLES ON THE FEET OF THE EXPORTER!”

Press release…

Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) Coordinator Jak Eskinazi said that exporters are shackled due to Türkiye’s need for foreign exchange and that despite the recession expectations in the European Union, the largest export market, the export performance of 1 billion 548 million dollars in August 2022 has been the success of Aegean exporters.

Eskinazi said, “As the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, we reached the export target of 18 billion dollars, which we set for the end of 2022, in July. At the end of August, we achieved our export target of 250 billion dollars, which we set for the end of 2022 for the country. Türkiye is a global supplier, as well as the hard work of Turkish exporters in the world markets brought this success. Untie the shackles that have been attached to the feet of the exporter recently. Then you will see that it performs much higher.”

“The Turkish exporter integrated with the world needs as much foreign currency as the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye needs. The government should not ignore this fact. As an exporter, we voice once again that we need financial support in order to achieve our export targets,” Eskinazi added.

Pointing out that the rise in producer prices in Türkiye is in the band of 160 percent and consumer price increases in the band of 90 percent, Eskinazi underlined that it is necessary to close this gap, otherwise the loss of capital of industrialists and exporters will accelerate and their commercial lives will be endangered…
