Hayrettin Uçak, Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, stated that Türkiye is the first across the world in the production of cherries, quince, figs, apricots.
Pointing out that Türkiye is also in the 2nd place in the production of cherry, cucumber, melon and watermelon and in the 3rd place in the production of apple, pepper, tangerine and tomato, Uçak said, “There are a total of 15 crops in which we are in the top 5 in fruit and vegetable production. We are the world leader in pickle exports in fruit and vegetable products. We have the world’s most modern facilities in the production and export of fruit juices, dried and frozen fruit and vegetables.”
“With the ongoing Turkish Fresh and Processed Fruits and Vegetables Cluster URGE Project, we aim to boost our exports by clustering 41 companies. We have achieved significant success in the export of fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products in the USA thanks to the TURQUALITY Project called Turkish Tastes, which we continue for the US market of 6 food associations within the Aegean Exporters’ Associations. We will participate in 4 fairs in 2024 to ramp up our exports to Far Eastern countries.
