Fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products are taking firm steps towards the 6 billion export target…
Fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products sectors exports in the first half of 2024 with a surge of 9 percent in the first half of 3 billion 8 million dollars in foreign currency to Türkiye. The two sectors, which have an export target of 6 billion dollars for 2024, achieved 51 per cent of the target in the first half of 2024.
While fresh fruit and vegetable exports soared by 1 percent to 1 billion 718 million dollars, exports of fruit and vegetable products soared by 20 percent from 1 billion 42 million dollars to 1 billion 290 million dollars.
Hayrettin Uçak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, said that 60 million tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables are produced in Türkiye.
Stating that exports are the insurance of the producers in order for 60 million tonnes of production to turn into added value and for the producers to be rewarded for their efforts, Uçak added, “By exporting Turkish flavours to all four corners of the world, we both bring foreign currency to the country and the producers are rewarded for their efforts.”
