WARNING FARMERS NOT TO BURN STUBBLE!

A warning came to farmers to maintain the fertility of the soil.

Erzincan Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry warned the farmers not to burn stubble and reminded that burning the stubble was 73,68 TL administrative fines per decare.

The Governor’s Communiqué on the prevention of stubble burning has been published. The purpose of the communiqué stated as follows; Taking the necessary measures for the sustainability of soil fertility in the natural balance by protecting the structure of the soil and the environment, which is the main source of agricultural production, taking into account the damage to the soil structure and the environment, providing the information to the public along with training of farmers and technical personnel after the harvesting of grains.

Making a statement on the subject, Erzincan Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Manager Murat Şahin pointed out that after the harvest period, some farmers still stubble despite all warnings.

Şahin said, “Stubble fires cause the environment, human health and natural balance to deteriorate. The aforementioned communiqué has been published and sent to all districts as informational about the work and procedures they will make to the relevant for public institutions and headmen.”
