VEYSEL MEMİŞ: WE MADE AN EXPORT OF 147.8 MILLION DOLLARS IN APRIL
“WE ARE MAKING MOVES IN THE ASIA-PACIFIC MARKET WITH A POPULATION OF 2.2 BILLION”
Veysel Memiş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association (AHBİB), announced that they exported 147 million 776 thousand dollars in April. Stating that AHBİB exported to 138 countries in the fourth month of the year, Veysel Memiş also reported that while reaching the highest values in Iraq, Syria and the Netherlands markets, they achieved significant export growth in 51 countries.

Veysel Memiş underlined that AHBİB fully supports the activities for the promotion of the ‘Turkish Food Exporters’ brand, which is formed by 6 exporters’ associations representing nearly 13 thousand member companies, including the largest enterprises in the field of food and emphasised that they included Singapore in their promotional activities in different parts of the world from Germany to Japan, Dubai to Russia.
Indicating that AHBİB participated in the FHA Food and Beverage Fair held in Singapore between 23-26 April under the umbrella of the Turkish Food Exporters brand, Memiş said, “We made significant moves to strengthen the position of the sector in the Asia Pacific market with product promotions and tasting events in this country, which is known as an important reexport centre in world food trade.”

Pointing out that 26 food companies from Türkiye participated in the FHA Food and Beverage Fair, President Veysel Memiş added, “The cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products companies, which exported 20 million 657 thousand dollars to Singapore last year with an uptick of 20.2 percent, had the chance to open up to the RCEP region where 2.2 billion people live and that they had fruitful meetings with importers from Thailand, Vietnam and Bangladesh.”
