Turkish salmon exports from the Eastern Black Sea region reached 152,371,502 dollars between January and October.

Ismail Kobya, Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association Fishery Products Sector Committee, told an Anatolian Agency (AA) correspondent that 23,312 tonnes of Turkish salmon were exported to 18 countries from the region in the first 10 months of the year.

Kobya reported that exports generated 152 million 371 thousand 502 dollars in revenue and noted that Russia led the way in exports of this product.
Kobya said that 80 million 837 thousand 189 dollars worth of Turkish salmon was exported to Russia, adding, “Russia was followed by Vietnam with 24 million 841 thousand 854 dollars and Japan with 21 million 892 thousand 463 dollars. Exports were also made to Slovakia and the United Arab Emirates from the region during this period.”
Emphasising that 108 million 438 thousand 594 dollars of the region’s exports were made from Trabzon province, Kobya reported that 16 thousand 251 tonnes of Turkish salmon were sold from the city to 15 countries, primarily Russia.
Pointing out that expectations for salmon exports from the region and Trabzon province are high, he added, “We will focus on new target countries and high value-added product varieties to ramp up exports and enhance the brand value of Turkish salmon in global markets.”
