The Turkish olive sector took its place at the 18th International Edible Oil Expo 2025 Fair held in Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China, between 12 and 14 June 2024.

Turkish exporters plan to export 10,000 tonnes of olive oil to China, which currently imports 30,000 tonnes of olive oil and is expected to import 100,000 tonnes of olive oil within five years.
The Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association (EZZİB) is focusing on marketing activities in line with the Ministry of Trade’s ‘Distant Countries Strategy’ to convert Türkiye’s increasing olive and olive oil harvests into added value in recent years.
The Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association, which has been organising sectoral trade delegations to Brazil, Australia and the United States for the past two years, participated in the 18th International Edible Oil Expo 2025 Fair held in Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China, between 12 and 14 June 2024. EZZİB’s next stop will be Canada in September.

During the fair, Ender Gündüz, former President of the International Olive Council (IOC) Promotion Section, gave a comprehensive presentation on Türkiye’s olive and olive oil potential.
Pointing out that China is the world’s largest market with a population of 1.4 billion, Davut Er, Vice Chair of the Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association, stated that 500 million people in China have a high income level and are in a position to consume olives and olive oil and that they want to ramp up the export volume of Turkish olives and olive oil in the Chinese market…
