Istanbul Chamber of Industry brought together food suppliers from 40 countries with Turkish companies. A total of 3,500 bilateral meetings were held with 65 domestic and over 80 foreign companies in the organisation, which brought together Türkiye’s most prestigious food producers with the world’s largest supermarket chains and major food importers.
Within the scope of Istanbul International Food Meetings organised by Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) and Karibu, more than 100 buyers from more than 40 countries came together to evaluate cooperation opportunities.
In the event, which brought together the country’s most prestigious food manufacturers with the world’s largest supermarket chains and major food importers, more than 3,500 bilateral meetings were held with more than 80 foreign companies, 65 of which were domestic companies.
“The food sector has a serious weight in the Turkish economy”
Speaking at the opening of the event, Haktan Akın, Secretary General of ISO, emphasised that the food industry is an important component of the Turkish economy and said: “We are excited to be together with 64 companies and the officials of more than 80 foreign companies consisting of market chains and wholesalers from more than 40 countries and to host a sectoral procurement delegation event on this scale for the first time in our country.”
