Market search for Turkish products in Brazil and Chile…
Turkish exporters are preparing to expand into Brazil and Chile, South America’s two largest economies, as part of the Ministry of Trade’s Distant Market Strategy.

A trade delegation, coordinated by the Ministry of Trade, organized by the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM) and the Aegean Exporters’ Association (EIB), will hold one-on-one meetings with importers in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Santiago, Chile, from November 16–21, 2025.
The goal in foreign trade with Brazil: Reducing the deficit
Jak Eskinazi, Coordinating Chair of the Aegean Exporters’ Association, announced that Brazil and Chile, with a combined population of 235 million and a Gross National Product of 2.5 trillion dollars, are the region’s two largest markets.

“While Türkiye’s exports to Brazil remain at 1 billion dollars, our imports reach 3.9 billion dollars. This translates to a foreign trade deficit of approximately 3 billion dollars. Our goal is to achieve a more balanced foreign trade structure by increasing our exports to Brazil. We aim to ramp up trade volume by collaborating with the professional organizations of these countries through such organizations,” Eskinazi said.
Chile targets 1 billion dollars in trade volume…
Highlighting that Türkiye exported 360 million dollars to Chile and imported 123 million dollars worth of products from Chile in 2024, he added, “Our trade volume with Chile reached 978 million dollars at the end of 2021. By halting the decline in our foreign trade with Chile and maintaining our advantageous position, we aim to boost our trade volume to over 1 billion dollars. We expect strong participation from our exporters in this trade delegation, open to all sectors.”
