In the sixth week of the “Third Generation Agricultural Entrepreneurship Training Programme” initiated by the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (EYMSİB) on March 5 to bring young people into the agricultural sector, Özgörkey companies group in İzmir Torbalı and Agrobay Greenhouse in Dikili were visited.
Participants, registered in the programme, detailed information was given about the processes related to the entire supply chain, from the arrival of the products to the business, production processes, waste management, sustainability policies of the companies, R&D studies, packaging and shipment, and demonstrated in practice.
Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association Chairperson Hayrettin Uçak said, “As Aegean Exporters’ Associations, which has been carrying out 75 percent of Turkey’s organic product exports for 38 years; we are investing in many projects with a sustainability perspective, with the cooperation of both academia and our national/international stakeholders.”
“With our Third Generation Agricultural Entrepreneurship Training Programme, we provide our young people with a comprehensive training covering the processes required for sustainable agriculture, from the input industries to the field, from the farm to the processor-packers, logistics and the chain that includes the consumer, to the point where waste is minimized and recycling is maximized,” he added…
