Stating that the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association (EKMMİB) maintained its leadership in dried apricot exports with a share of 49 million dollars, Mehmet Ali Işık, Head of EKMMİB, said, “The biggest demand for Turkish apricots comes from the USA, Germany and France.”
“While the United States of America continued to be the leader in dried apricot exports with an amount of 21.3 million dollars, we exported 11 million dollars worth of dried apricots to Germany and 10 million dollars to France. These countries were followed by Brazil with 6.8 million dollars and Algeria with 6 million dollars,” Işık said.
Pointing out that in the first quarter of the 2024/25 season, increases in dried apricot exports from Türkiye to China, Algeria, India and Kazakhstan drew attention, Işık added, “Dried apricot exports to China soared by 356 percent from 1 million to 4.7 million dollars, while dried apricot exports to Algeria jumped by 1,329 percent from 418,000 to 6 million dollars. Türkiye, which exported 900 thousand dollars worth of dried apricots to India in the first quarter of the 2023/24 season, ramped up its exports to India by 221 percent to 3 million dollars in the first quarter of the 2024/25 season. In the same period, dried apricot exports to Kazakhstan surged by 143 percent from 1.5 million to 3.8 million dollars.”
